who cares just a bid about soccer and goes to Argentina probably has to go to the Bombonera, the stadium of the Boca Juniors - or Club Atletico Boca Juniors if you wanna know the complete name. Boca is probably the most popular club in Argentina - although I might make all the fans of other teams - especially River Plate - very angry on me. So we got a chance to go a Boca home match.
And not any match but the local derby against the big enemy River Plate Buenos Aires. This is the football derby in Argentina. Everybody is waiting for it the whole year. So also the tickets for this one are quite expensive.
150 US Dolars shows a little the importance of the game. But it was great. The athmosphere is indeed amazing. The stadium is relatively small but goes up very steep.
So thats why about 70,000 people are cheering in a relatively small area. The vibrating tribune when people start to jump on it makes you feel different. The game itself was actually not that spectacular. Boca won 1:0 through an early header.
I think River did not create one real chance. But who cares, the experience was great. No incidences either, just a few smoke bombs.
Also even as all the stairs and paths through the stadium are quite small and narrow we got out in in quite easily. In the end just a good atmosphere. So if you get a chance once, just go.

Did they take all that toilet-roll off the pitch before they played? That's a lot of bog-roll!
